SERPENTINE

The work proposes a poetic investigation of Loïe Fuller's Serpentine Dance, as well as artist Aspásia Mariana's research into the relationship between dance and technological mediation. It questions the hegemonies and hierarchies constructed over time within dance itself.

Using scenic, audiovisual, and sonic elements that transform in dialogue with the exhibition space, the dramaturgical narrative unfolds through layers of video, projections, an original soundtrack, and visual effects, creating an interactive and accessible experience.

GUERREIRAS

In G U E R R E I R A S, what precedes us is silence, a silent dance of preparation. We are and we continue dancing out there, on hard-packed earth, making the sound of those who resist resonate through the alfaia. There is sound in silence, and within it we dance in ritual, preparing our bodies for what is and for what is yet to come.

The G U E R R E I R A S are here, and I am with them, those who came before us, in a ritual of preparation, with strength and tenderness.

Developed within the Dance Laboratory of Porto Iracema das Artes | 2016, and selected in the Secultfor Arts Grant – 2016, in the production category.

Not Filmed Dance

Documentation of the urban intervention project carried out at the Sesc Santos Biennial.

“Not Filmed Dance” is an urban intervention work in which video and dance enter into dialogue, proposing to take them to the streets by projecting onto buildings, houses, and walls. Our intention is to reach people who do not traditionally take part in video festivals.

We want to bring video dance to those who are leaving work and heading home, for example, and in doing so, to cross through everyday routines, modifying them, interfering with them, and enabling a dilation of time. This happens through videos projected on a large scale, such as on buildings, or on a smaller scale, such as residential walls, facades, and similar surfaces, in order to provoke spaces and places of dance, for dance and with dance, in relation.

MA VIE

"La lumière est venue à moi" - Loie Fuller

This solo contemporary dance piece investigates the relationship between theater and dance, and the body as image, in dialogue with technological resources through stage lighting.

It brings scenic languages closer together based on what was initially proposed in the work of Loïe Fuller, an actress and dancer who investigated the relationship with technologies through the use of light, especially in the piece “Serpentine Dance.” It also draws on her research into the use of lighting on the body, creating a dialogue between body and light, dancing together in composition, without limiting light to an atmospheric definition of space.
